Paris, from its iconic landmarks to its romantic ambiance, Paris exudes a unique blend of history, culture, and sophistication that enchants every traveler fortunate enough to explore its streets.

The Eiffel Tower: Symbol of Parisian Grandeur:

No visit to Paris is complete without standing in awe beneath the iconic Eiffel Tower. This iron marvel, which stands as a testament to engineering and artistic brilliance, offers breathtaking views of the city from its observation decks. Whether bathed in sunlight or illuminated by night, the Eiffel Tower is an emblem of Parisian elegance.

Make sure you purchase a ticket to take the elevator to the top of the Eiffel. [FYI: If you are claustrophobic, Warning: It has a low ceiling and they sardine pack you on the elevator.] Once you get to the top, and step out to the balconies, you will experience 360 degree views of this spectacular city. Inside the Eiffel they have shops and places to get something to eat or drink. Take it all in up here. This was my favorite experience in Paris.

Artistic Treasures: Louvre and Beyond:

Immerse yourself in the art world by exploring the Louvre, one of the world’s most famous museums. Home to thousands of artworks, including the enigmatic Mona Lisa, the Louvre is a journey through history, culture, and human creativity.  I suggest you keep moving.  If you linger too long you will only see a fraction of all there is to see and experience at the Louvre.

Tip: Watch for pick-pockets in Paris and especially at the Louvre! Really keep an eye on what other people are doing. I witnessed some shady people here. I suggest having a fanny pack diagonally around your chest and NOT carrying a purse.  They have lockers at the Louvre to keep all your belongings. I highly recommend it. There are a couple different entrances to the Louvre. Check for the best place to get in line to enter.

Beyond the Louvre, Paris boasts countless galleries and artistic spaces, celebrating both classic and contemporary art.

Pablo Picasso Museum

I was not too excited to go here. This was my husband’s pick to do while we were in Paris. Once I arrived, I was amazed at the architecture of the museum. When you enter, you will be in awe of this place. Not only will you love the art of Picasso but you will love walking the halls and stairways to each level of this historic home. I wanted to call it my home and move in.  It is that beautiful!

Paris is always a good idea

Shopping

There is a mall underground of the Louvre. I know, there are plenty of places to shop in Paris because well, it is Paris. However, this is a must to experience.  Also, make sure you have coins on you at all times, as it costs money to use the bathrooms in Paris.

A Stroll Along the Seine: Romantic Serenity

The Seine River meanders through Paris, offering a picturesque backdrop for leisurely strolls. Enjoy a charming boat cruise or walk along the riverbanks, where you’ll encounter artists, bookstalls, and bridges adorned with padlocks symbolizing eternal love.

Café Culture and Culinary Delights

Parisian cafés are more than just places to dine; they’re windows into the city’s soul. Savor freshly baked croissants, THE BEST in the world, indulge in rich chocolates, and sip on espresso while watching the world go by. The culinary scene is equally tantalizing, with gourmet restaurants serving up delectable French cuisine. Paris also has plenty of options to choose from, from Ramen to Pizza.

I suggest going to the boulangerie early in the morning, as they sell out quickly of their abundance of pastries. There seems to be one on every corner in Paris. So no matter where your accommodations are, you will have one around the corner, I’m sure.

Timeless Architecture: Notre-Dame and Montmartre:

Paris boasts architectural marvels that transport you through time. Visit the awe-inspiring Notre-Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that has witnessed centuries of history. Wander through the charming streets of Montmartre, once frequented by artists like Picasso and Van Gogh, and soak in the bohemian ambiance.

Gardens of Tranquility: Luxembourg and Tuileries:

Escape the urban bustle and find tranquility in Paris’s beautiful gardens. Luxembourg Gardens and Tuileries Gardens provide a serene oasis where you can relax, read a book, or simply enjoy the beauty of meticulously landscaped green spaces.

Paris by Night: Illuminating Magic:

Experience the enchantment of Paris at night as the city’s landmarks light up. Take a romantic stroll along the Champs-Élysées, admire the shimmering lights of the Seine, and perhaps catch a cabaret show at the iconic Moulin Rouge.

The Eiffel Tower lights up at night. The Eiffel lights will flash and sparkle on the hour every hour at night. Select one of the numerous locations to appreciate this magic of the Eiffel.
